Flick Software

Founded during the 2001 Ottawa tech meltdown, from the top floor of an apartment. Mobile solutions for Intel, Rogers Wireless and others. The company that spun up You.i.

The Ottawa high-tech meltdown of 2001 put half the city's tech workers on the street. My reaction was to start a company. Flick Software ran out of the top floor of my apartment, staffed by recently unemployed friends, with a first contract building a security tracking system. It grew into a mobile solutions shop with clients like Intel and Rogers Wireless — and it's where Stuart Russell and I met and spun up You.i Labs. In 2017 it spun off Sheldon, a resource-management tool.
